Description
Durable, inflatable Sensory Pea Pod is made with super-strong vinyl and has tough triple-welded seams for added strength. Most children on the autism spectrum can get in the sensory peapod themselves, applying deep, even pressure to many sensitive areas of the body. Some autistic children like to gently rock side-to-side for a “cocooning-calm.” The velvety surface of the hugging pea pod is made with comfortable flocked vinyl and applies gentle pressure.

My 5 yr old granddaughter, who is on the spectrum, was immediately over the moon with this product. She is almost constantly struggling with self regulation; their house is almost always battered by her screaming. The pod is enormous (it’s only drawback – I got this large version for her) but my daughter has said it could be the size of an elephant – it’s worth it for their newly much more peaceful household, and happier child.

My son is on the spectrum and has sensory issues. He loves this, dove right in as soon as we inflated it. It is sturdy and seems well made. My only concern is that the valve to inflate the bottom is inside and surrounded by hard plastic. It is very scratchy and not flexible AT ALL and sits right where either his feet or butt are, depending on how he gets in.

I must confess that I was reluctant to buy the peapod at first as I thought it was going to be flimsy and inferior quality.
I guess i was skeptical and concerned that it might turn out to be flimsy because It was inflatable.
Well, i was wrong!
My grandson LOVES his new pea pod!
He is four years old and so I got him the 48” which was perfect for him.
My daughter said that my grandson would always be all smiles when inside his peapod. I guess it serves like a safe niche for him.
I will definitely buy a larger size for him to give to him when he outgrows the one he has!

My grandson, Caleb, is almost 6 years old, autistic and non verbal. We inflated the pea pod and Caleb immediately sat inside with his IPad. He was very relaxed as soon as he sat down and continued to relax more and more in just a few minutes.
He remained in the pod for over an hour just playing with his IPad until he fell asleep.
Woke got out for a bit and went right back to the pod. He was in the pod for quite a long time through the evening.
Caleb has issues with stemming. We let him go on for a time but then have to continuously remind him to settle or quiet down. We are not sure if the stemming helps him to relax or what??
The entire time Caleb was in the pea pod, he never once stemmed. He was perfectly calm either watching tv or his ipad.
We are all very impressed and happy with the purchase.

The Occupational Therapist at our school was thrilled to get another pea pod. We already have one, and it works so well with our autistic children, that she wanted to have another one that could fit two children at the same time.
